What is anti-ageing / redermalisation?
The current buzzword on everyone's lips when we're talking about anti-ageing and skincare is Hyaluronic Acid. All the major companies are launching products containing this compound which occurs naturally in the skin, and has remarkable properties, including smoothing of fine lines and wrinkles, and stimulating rejuvenation of skin cells, particularly in the face, neck, hands and breast area, which are normally where the first signs of ageing are seen.
Whilst we use traditional Hyaluronic acid products, we are now using a new product which has just been approved in the UK and is even more effective than those currently on the market. The difference is the addition of succinic acid, which, when added to hyaluronic acid, works in combination to provide even better anti-ageing results.
We are committed to offering sympathetic advice on the best treatments and product for your skin types and specific problem areas.
How does it work?
Hyaluronic acid forms a continuous thin membrane, which retains natural moisture in the skin without disrupting gas exchange with the environment. It also increases the amount of free water in the stratum corneum and helps reduce water evaporation from the skin's surface. The membrane formed on the skin contributes to a more prolonged action of biologically active substances included in the product, and prevents toxins from the atmosphere affecting the skin's surface.
The addition of Succinic Acid provides deep cleansing of the skin, enriches it with minerals and oxygen, detoxifies it and promotes its rapid regeneration, strengthens tissue and tightens the skin, renews cells, improves the capillaries micro-circulation.
The succinic acid returns a healthy lustre to faint, tired-looking skin, typical of those who have a chronic lack of oxygen, especially City dwellers, smokers, office workers, and people who work in an air-conditioned environment. It also prevents premature ageing of face and neck skin, whilst the hyaluronic acid in Hyalual Daily delux moisturises, softens and smoothes the skin and provides a lifting effect.
Usually, even after the first treatment, skin is visibly softer, smoother, and fine lines and wrinkles are noticeably reduced. For best results we recommend a course of 3 treatments offered over the course of 6-weeks.
Are the effects immediate?
It takes between 1 - 2 weeks for the treated area to settle and for results to be seen. Whilst some people do have a noticeable effect after just ne treatment, we recommend a course of 3 treatments over the course of 6-weeks to see best results.
Does it hurt?
It is an injection and so there is some associated mild and short lived discomfort. However, we can use topical and injectable anaesthetics to reduce the pain
How long does it last?
The results can last for 12 months or more.
Who can carry out the treatments?
Only health professionals should carry out these procedures - pharmacists, nurses, doctors and dentists. Do not go to anyone who is not medically qualified
What are the risks?
Hyaluronic acid fillers have a very good safety profile which is why we make it our first choice in dermal fillers. There is a very small risk of allergy which is why you must ensure that you see a medically qualified practitioner.
Who cannot have the treatment?
You should not have dermal fillers if:
- you are pregnant or breast feeding
- you are on antibiotics
- you have a known allergy to dermal fillers
- you have a bleeding or clotting disorder
You will be advised individually if you have active acne or broken skin or are prone to cold sores.
